Questa settimana i nostri bambini della scuola primaria si sono concentrati sulla scienza, osservando le creature pi\u00f9 minuscole, studiando come i materiali cambiano da liquidi a solidi, e cosa rende qualcosa di acido o alcalino e come distinguere la differenza.<\/header>\n

Osservare la scienza in tempo reale aiuta a incorporare l'apprendimento nella mente dei bambini. Ad esempio, guardare un indicatore (cartina tornasole) cambiare in rosso per indicare un contenuto pi\u00f9 acido, o in blu per pi\u00f9 alcalino, o rimanere bianco per indicare un risultato neutro: \u00e8 una conoscenza che \u00e8 molto pi\u00f9 probabile che venga ricordata del semplice apprendimento da un libro.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Da questo esperimento otteniamo la metafora della \u201cprova del tornasole\u201d \u2013 un modo efficace e definitivo per provare o misurare qualcosa. Ad esempio, potresti trovarlo utilizzato in politica per valutare il valore di una politica, o in conservazione, per determinare se l'estinzione di una specie \u00e8 correlata all'emergenza climatica.<\/p>\n

L'uso dei microscopi per osservare gli oggetti pi\u00f9 piccoli \u00e8 sempre un'attivit\u00e0 divertente in classe. I bambini hanno messo con cura piccole quantit\u00e0 di acqua fresca sui vetrini da microscopio e usando le lenti per mettere a fuoco la messa a fuoco, sono stati in grado di identificare mini invertebrati che non potevano vedere ad occhio nudo.<\/p>\n

Questo esperimento mostra ai bambini che c'\u00e8 un mondo nascosto l\u00e0 fuori: sotto i loro piedi, nei fiumi e nei torrenti, nella vegetazione e negli alberi. La biodiversit\u00e0 non \u00e8 sempre immediatamente visibile ed \u00e8 importante non dimenticare che esiste anche quando non la vediamo. Classificare le creature insegna ai bambini come etichettare la materia, che si tratti di un oggetto comune come un libro, o del nome di una creatura vivente come un verme, una lumaca o un insetto.<\/p>\n

Come se quel duro lavoro non bastasse, i nostri bambini hanno anche imparato come i materiali possono cambiare da uno stato all'altro: liquidi, gas e solidi. Usando il calore e il ghiaccio secco hanno osservato l'acqua congelarsi, sciogliersi e poi evaporare. Osservare i cambiamenti in prima persona consente ai bambini di fare previsioni su ci\u00f2 che accadr\u00e0 dopo.<\/p>\n

Il prossimo inverno la scienza di questa settimana sar\u00e0 in prima linea nelle menti dei nostri bambini primari quando osserveranno come l'acqua si trasforma in ghiaccio, come il vapore acqueo che cade dal cielo diventa neve e perch\u00e9 il loro respiro caldo \u00e8 visibile mentre evapora nell'aria fredda.<\/p>\n
