L'Institut Montana est extr\u00eamement fier d'annoncer que son r\u00e9cent dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 du Gymnase suisse a obtenu un score exceptionnel de 5,769, le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 du canton de Zoug.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le parcours de Joshua est vraiment exceptionnel. Il a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 l'Institut Montana en 2017 en tant qu'\u00e9l\u00e8ve interne \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole primaire. Arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 l'\u00e2ge de 12 ans sans aucune connaissance de l'allemand, il a excell\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son d\u00e9vouement et son travail acharn\u00e9, soutenu par la communaut\u00e9 de l'\u00e9cole, et a finalement termin\u00e9 ses \u00e9tudes au Gymnase suisse avec brio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durant son s\u00e9jour \u00e0 l'Institut Montana, Joshua a \u00e9t\u00e9 l'un de leurs ambassadeurs \u00e9tudiants les plus marquants et les plus motivants, accueillant chaleureusement et partageant son exp\u00e9rience avec les nouvelles familles. Passionn\u00e9 d'IA et de programmation, il a \u00e9crit un livre impressionnant Travail de maturit\u00e9<\/a> et poursuit actuellement ses \u00e9tudes \u00e0 la prestigieuse ETH Zurich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Shanghai \u00e0 la Suisse sans aucun mot d'allemand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le choix de l'Institut Montana a \u00e9t\u00e9 une pure co\u00efncidence, car Joshua avait initialement pr\u00e9vu de fr\u00e9quenter le lyc\u00e9e aux \u00c9tats-Unis. La famille est ensuite tomb\u00e9e sur une pr\u00e9sentation des internats suisses et est imm\u00e9diatement tomb\u00e9e amoureuse du Montana. La proximit\u00e9 de la nature, la situation centrale et la possibilit\u00e9 d'apprendre l'allemand \u00e9taient autant de facteurs attrayants. Apr\u00e8s avoir visit\u00e9 l'\u00e9cole, la famille de Joshua \u00e9tait convaincue que le Montana pourrait \u00eatre son foyer pour de nombreuses ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quitter la Chine et sa famille pour commencer ses \u00e9tudes \u00e0 l\u2019Institut Montana a \u00e9t\u00e9 au d\u00e9part une exp\u00e9rience intimidante pour cet adolescent de 12 ans. \u00ab Au d\u00e9but, c\u2019\u00e9tait difficile car j\u2019avais le mal du pays \u00bb, se souvient-il. \u00ab Heureusement, mes nouveaux amis m\u2019ont consol\u00e9 et mes parents d\u2019accueil ont toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u00e0 pour m\u2019offrir leur soutien. Je suis reconnaissant de l\u2019environnement stimulant que j\u2019ai eu \u00e0 Montana et qui m\u2019a \u00e9norm\u00e9ment aid\u00e9 pendant mes premiers jours. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joshua a exprim\u00e9 sa gratitude pour le soutien de Montana tout au long de son parcours, de l\u2019apprentissage de l\u2019allemand de z\u00e9ro \u00e0 l\u2019obtention de son dipl\u00f4me apr\u00e8s six ans au Gymnase suisse. \u00ab L\u2019environnement d\u2019apprentissage immersif de l\u2019\u00e9cole a \u00e9t\u00e9 incroyablement utile pour apprendre l\u2019allemand \u00bb, note-t-il. Avec des cours dispens\u00e9s en allemand, il a admis qu\u2019il \u00e9tait quotidiennement expos\u00e9 \u00e0 la langue et qu\u2019il \u00e9tait capable d\u2019apprendre assez rapidement. Montana a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 un espace s\u00fbr o\u00f9 il pouvait faire des erreurs sans craindre le ridicule ou le jugement. Cette atmosph\u00e8re de soutien lui a permis de pratiquer et de parler allemand tous les jours, malgr\u00e9 sa timidit\u00e9 initiale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joshua a grandi dans une famille anglophone et est arriv\u00e9 en Suisse en tant que locuteur courant de cette langue. Il s\u2019est toutefois senti chanceux car, pendant ses ann\u00e9es au lyc\u00e9e suisse, il a eu le privil\u00e8ge de recevoir des cours d\u2019anglais et d\u2019histoire de Mme Verhar. Ses cours \u00e9taient exigeants et demandaient beaucoup d\u2019efforts et de pr\u00e9paration. Mes efforts ont cependant \u00e9t\u00e9 largement r\u00e9compens\u00e9s. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son aide, j\u2019ai pu am\u00e9liorer consid\u00e9rablement mon niveau d\u2019anglais et j\u2019ai appris \u00e0 interpr\u00e9ter et \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier la litt\u00e9rature anglaise. Mme Verhar m\u2019a non seulement enseign\u00e9 des comp\u00e9tences sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 la mati\u00e8re, mais elle a \u00e9galement fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 ma vision du monde en tant que personne gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la litt\u00e9rature \u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 Joshua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La vie d'un pensionnaire dans le Montana<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vivre \u00e0 l\u2019Institut Montana \u00e9tait pour Joshua un second chez-soi. Il a expliqu\u00e9 \u00e0 quel point la communaut\u00e9 de l\u2019internat \u00e9tait devenue pour lui un v\u00e9ritable chez-soi. Il s\u2019est senti accueilli, accept\u00e9 et soutenu par les parents d\u2019accueil de l\u2019Institut Montana. \u00ab Au fil des ans, nous avons pu cr\u00e9er des liens personnels profonds que je ch\u00e9ris profond\u00e9ment. Avec mes parents d\u2019accueil, M. Probst, M. Barche, M. Heine et Mme Hansen, j\u2019ai pu discuter de presque tout, des voyages \u00e0 la politique en passant par l\u2019\u00e9cole. Ils \u00e9taient l\u00e0 pour me remonter le moral quand j\u2019\u00e9tais d\u00e9prim\u00e9 et pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer mes r\u00e9ussites. \u00bb 

Il a \u00e9galement exprim\u00e9 sa gratitude pour tout le soutien de Mme Chang, la responsable de l'internat, qu'il croisait parfois lors de ses promenades du soir. Aujourd'hui, en tant qu'\u00e9tudiant dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 qui s'appr\u00eate \u00e0 entrer \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9, cela lui rappelle beaucoup le moment o\u00f9 il a quitt\u00e9 sa maison de Shanghai pour commencer ses \u00e9tudes \u00e0 l'Institut Montana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outre ses \u00e9tudes, Joshua est passionn\u00e9 de programmation, notamment de Python. \u00ab Je comprends que beaucoup de gens puissent consid\u00e9rer cela comme une activit\u00e9 acad\u00e9mique, mais pour moi, c'est un passe-temps que j'appr\u00e9cie \u00e9norm\u00e9ment. \u00bb Avec le recul, il encourage les autres \u00e0 choisir l'Institut Montana pour sa communaut\u00e9 et ses opportunit\u00e9s. \u00ab En quelques mots : venez au Montana ! Vous ne le regretterez pas \u00bb, conseille-t-il aux futurs \u00e9tudiants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le prochain chapitre passionnant de l'ETH commence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Joshua a confi\u00e9 qu\u2019il \u00e9tait impatient d\u2019\u00e9tudier aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de certains des esprits les plus brillants du monde \u00e0 l\u2019ETH Zurich. \u00ab L\u2019Institut Montana m\u2019a pr\u00e9par\u00e9 de diverses mani\u00e8res \u00bb, explique-t-il. \u00ab M. Meiler, mon professeur de coll\u00e8ge et l\u2019un de mes mentors pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9s, a \u00e9veill\u00e9 mon int\u00e9r\u00eat pour les sciences. Nous restons toujours en contact et discutons de physique et de chimie. \u00ab Les cours de Mme Verhar m\u2019ont appris \u00e0 penser de mani\u00e8re critique et \u00e0 acqu\u00e9rir des comp\u00e9tences pratiques comme la prise de notes, ce qui a renforc\u00e9 mon \u00e9thique de travail. Ces comp\u00e9tences seront cruciales pour mes \u00e9tudes universitaires. De plus, mon int\u00e9r\u00eat personnel pour la physique et les math\u00e9matiques m\u2019a conduit \u00e0 \u00e9tudier de mani\u00e8re autonome, ce qui sera \u00e9galement crucial pour mon parcours universitaire. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lorsqu'on lui demande ce qui lui manquera de l'Institut Montana, Joshua \u00e9num\u00e8re avec enthousiasme la communaut\u00e9, les relations personnelles, les activit\u00e9s scolaires et le magnifique campus, en particulier les promenades en soir\u00e9e sous le ciel \u00e9toil\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
