Cette semaine, nos enfants du primaire se sont concentr\u00e9s sur la science - en regardant les cr\u00e9atures les plus minuscules, en \u00e9tudiant comment les mat\u00e9riaux passent du liquide au solide, et ce qui rend quelque chose acide ou alcalin et comment faire la diff\u00e9rence.<\/header>\n

L'observation de la science en temps r\u00e9el permet d'ancrer l'apprentissage dans l'esprit des jeunes enfants. Par exemple, regarder un b\u00e2ton indicateur (papier de tournesol) passer au rouge pour indiquer un contenu plus acide, ou au bleu pour plus alcalin, ou rester blanc pour indiquer un r\u00e9sultat neutre - est une connaissance qui est beaucoup plus susceptible d'\u00eatre m\u00e9moris\u00e9e que le simple apprentissage \u00e0 partir d'un livre.<\/p>\n

De cette exp\u00e9rience, nous obtenons la m\u00e9taphore "Test d\u00e9cisif" - un moyen efficace et d\u00e9finitif de prouver ou de mesurer quelque chose. L'utilisation de microscopes pour observer les plus petits objets constitue toujours une activit\u00e9 amusante en classe. Les enfants ont soigneusement mis de petites quantit\u00e9s d'eau douce sur des lames de microscope et en utilisant les lentilles pour affiner la mise au point, ils ont pu identifier des mini-invert\u00e9br\u00e9s qu'ils ne pouvaient pas voir \u00e0 l'\u0153il nu.<\/p>\n

Cette exp\u00e9rience montre aux enfants qu'il existe un monde cach\u00e9 l\u00e0-bas \u2013 sous leurs pieds, dans les rivi\u00e8res et les ruisseaux, et dans la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation et les arbres. La biodiversit\u00e9 n'est pas toujours imm\u00e9diatement visible et il ne faut pas oublier qu'elle existe m\u00eame quand on ne la voit pas. La classification des cr\u00e9atures enseigne aux enfants que les \u00e9tiquettes sont importantes - qu'il s'agisse d'un objet commun comme un livre ou du nom d'une cr\u00e9ature vivante comme un ver, un escargot ou un insecte.<\/p>\n

Comme si ce travail acharn\u00e9 ne suffisait pas, nos enfants ont \u00e9galement appris comment les mat\u00e9riaux peuvent passer d'un \u00e9tat \u00e0 un autre \u2013 liquides, gaz et solides. \u00c0 l'aide de chaleur et de neige carbonique, ils ont observ\u00e9 l'eau geler, fondre puis s'\u00e9vaporer. Observer les changements de premi\u00e8re main permet aux enfants de faire des pr\u00e9dictions sur ce qui se passera ensuite.<\/p>\n

L'hiver prochain, la science de cette semaine sera au premier plan dans l'esprit de nos enfants lorsqu'ils observeront comment l'eau se transforme en glace, comment la vapeur d'eau tombant du ciel se transforme en neige et pourquoi leur haleine chaude est visible lorsqu'elle s'\u00e9vapore dans l'air froid.<\/p>\n
