\nDos de los programas acad\u00e9micos m\u00e1s populares para los estudiantes de los grados 11\/12 a nivel mundial son los niveles avanzados (A Levels), que son el examen nacional de Inglaterra, Gales e Irlanda del Norte y el Bachillerato Internacional (IB). La mayor\u00eda de las escuelas internacionales ofrecer\u00e1n cualquiera de estos dos planes de estudio para j\u00f3venes de 16 a 18 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Aqu\u00ed en Brillantmont, nuestros estudiantes tienen la opci\u00f3n de un diploma de escuela secundaria estadounidense con SAT \/ AP o estudiar para A Levels. Pero, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 recomendamos este programa sobre el IB y cu\u00e1les son los principales beneficios para nuestros alumnos?<\/p>\n

Niveles A versus IB: \u00bfcu\u00e1l es la diferencia?
\n<\/strong>
\nAmbos programas educativos brindan a los estudiantes la posibilidad de profundizar su aprendizaje una vez superada la edad escolar obligatoria, con el objetivo de prepararlos para el trabajo o la universidad. Hay muchos beneficios tanto para el IB como para los niveles A. Sin embargo, existen algunas diferencias clave que incluyen el aprendizaje y la estructura del examen, la elecci\u00f3n de materias y el nivel de intensidad del estudio requerido.<\/p>\n

Con IB, los estudiantes asumen un programa que incluye una serie de elementos fijos. Estudiar\u00e1n seis materias: Primera Lengua, Segunda Lengua, Humanidades, Ciencias, Matem\u00e1ticas, Arte \/ Materia extra. Tres de las asignaturas deben cursarse en un nivel superior.
\nTambi\u00e9n hay un n\u00facleo acad\u00e9mico, que incluye Teor\u00eda del Conocimiento, Ensayo Extendido y los estudiantes tienen que hacer CAS (Creatividad, Acci\u00f3n, Servicio).<\/p>\n

Por otro lado, los A Levels, que se completan en un per\u00edodo de dos a\u00f1os, se dividen en dos secciones: AS Levels y luego A Levels. Los ex\u00e1menes AS se pueden tomar al final del primer a\u00f1o y completar los A Levels completos al final del segundo a\u00f1o. Los AS Levels son una calificaci\u00f3n por derecho propio y son aceptados por muchos empleadores, aunque la mayor\u00eda de las universidades requieren tres A Levels completos para ingresar.<\/p>\n

Los estudiantes que toman A Levels eligen una serie de materias en las que se especializan, generalmente tres o cuatro. En Brillantmont, se ofrece una selecci\u00f3n de materias tradicionales que abarcan humanidades, ciencias y artes. Es importante se\u00f1alar que los estudiantes eligen las materias que disfrutan y desean estudiar. No tienen la obligaci\u00f3n de estudiar una asignatura simplemente porque pertenece a una parte del programa, como es el caso del IB.<\/p>\n

Por ejemplo, un programa de nivel A puede constar \u00fanicamente de materias cient\u00edficas y matem\u00e1ticas o de materias m\u00e1s relacionadas con las artes. Esto es muy \u00fatil para los estudiantes cuando van a la universidad, ya que ya tienen una comprensi\u00f3n profunda y enfocada de su materia.<\/p>\n

Esta libertad de elecci\u00f3n permite a los estudiantes sobresalir en las materias elegidas en lugar de sentirse agobiados por una materia que no disfrutan y en la que pueden no ser particularmente buenos, pero necesitan continuar. Adem\u00e1s, existen numerosas oportunidades para el servicio comunitario y el aprendizaje del servicio en Brillantmont. \u00a1Los estudiantes participan por elecci\u00f3n, no por obligaci\u00f3n!<\/p>\n

Requisitos universitarios
\n<\/strong>
\nBrillantmont tiene un r\u00e9cord de 100% de admisi\u00f3n universitaria entre nuestros estudiantes. Muchos de los que rinden sus ex\u00e1menes de nivel superior en nuestra escuela internacional pasar\u00e1n a estudiar en prestigiosas universidades y colegios de todo el mundo.<\/p>\n

Muchos establecimientos educativos l\u00edderes aceptan tanto el nivel IB como el nivel A al admitir alumnos. Sin embargo, la calificaci\u00f3n A Level est\u00e1 reconocida formalmente en virtud de los Acuerdos de Bolonia, lo que significa que obtener suficientes calificaciones A Level deber\u00eda permitir el acceso a casi cualquier universidad que elija el estudiante. Esto incluye las universidades de la Ivy League en los EE. UU. Y Oxbridge. De cualquier manera, se concentrar\u00e1n en las \u00e1reas tem\u00e1ticas que mejor conocen.<\/p>\n

Al estudiar para los niveles A, los estudiantes comienzan a prepararse para este estilo de aprendizaje intensivo. Se apartan de la base de conocimientos integral que ofrece la educaci\u00f3n secundaria \/ preparatoria y que el IB promueve. En cambio, aprenden c\u00f3mo poner sus esfuerzos en un tema espec\u00edfico y sobresalir en su conocimiento y aplicaci\u00f3n de ese tema.<\/p>\n

Por qu\u00e9 Brillantmont ofrece A Levels
\n<\/strong>
\nNuestros estudiantes estudian para sus niveles A como parte de su educaci\u00f3n de 11 \u00b0 \/ 12 \u00b0 grado, en lugar de tomar el IB. Creemos que esto les brinda a los estudiantes una mejor oportunidad de prepararse para la universidad, ya que comienzan a especializarse en una peque\u00f1a selecci\u00f3n de materias. Como escuela peque\u00f1a, personalizamos nuestra ense\u00f1anza y queremos simular a los estudiantes para que se animen a alcanzar su m\u00e1ximo potencial. Los estudiantes particularmente capaces pueden incluso tomar A Levels adicionales y pueden dejar nuestra escuela con 4 o 5.<\/p>\n
